The crows and the currawongs were getting along well in the back yard on Sunday. Usually, they compete for food; and the crows, who are now great friends, have gained the run of the place.
The currawongs are mostly a bit stand offish. But it was magic to hear them calling. You can just hear our crows in the background if you turn the volume up. I call them “our crows” but I think they really own us.

That’s a currawong on the roof just outside our kitchen. You can see they look quite a lot like a crow, though their structure is a little finer, and these are pied currawong. You can see the white patches on the tail and wings. Although very similar to look at, the currawongs are not classed amongst the corvids.
The currawong is in the foreground, here. Midnight and Moonshadow, the friendly Torresian crows a just behind. I think Midnight is worried the currawong might be a bit closer to the cashews and is giving it a bit of an “I’m looking at you” glare.
